I can't trust anyone who uses the word "rebuke" three times in a three minute span.

BT, thanks for sharing that. I think the guy has a good message. Unfortunately, the wheels are already in motion for the unfolding catastrophe. The good news is, I don't believe this worldwide economic meltdown is going to kill the US, and when it's over in 5 years or so we'll come out of it a stronger nation - different, for sure, but stronger. I don't think there is any avoiding the train wreck that lies ahead. People are going to demand change, and they'll get it, but not without some pain, I'm afraid. On the bright side, there will be a tremendous opportunity to participate in the recovery when the time comes, we just gotta hang tough for a while.

I finally had the time to listen (OK, I skipped around, but I listened to quite a bit.)

I thought it was very telling that Wilson's illnes and inaction actually helped us out of a depression early in the 1920's that I didn't know we'd had until I just heard it.

I'm angry because of the background behind so much of what's gone on - with the housing debacle, for example. Regulation dictated that housing loans be given to people who normally would never have qualified for home ownership - in CA, for example, a house painer was given a nothing-down loan for a 300,000 mortgage. Are you fucking kidding me? Whatever happened to living within your means? Whatever happened to the obvious knowledge that 'owning a home' is not an inalienable right? Whataver happened to waiting until you could afford to put 20% down - you know, something devilishy mean, like HAVING TO SAVE? Fuck this shit.

From the vantage point of where I live, I see a lot of crap. A lot. And I watch and listen, and smile, and keep myself to myself. I'm really enjoying watching the underlying panic in DC right now, because the far left (and the far right, for that matter) are finally being battered down by the middle moderates, who fucking work their asses off every day and pay the taxes and the tuitions and the this and the that which keep everything running. My husband and I do make a decent income - but we worked our asses off to get to that point. We write large checks for tuition for college so our daughters don't start out life in debt. Don't mind that at all. I think it's important. But we write even larger checks to Uncle Sam the Sham, and I've about had it. I sat down and counted up everything we pay out - taxes at all levels. Close to 60K per year. And for what? Fucking assholes.

I'm just browsing sites for the children of Haiti.

I'm at this site for a non-profit group that is dedicated to
building an oppurunity for the children in haiti. If anyone wants to give money then this is the place:

Donate to Haiti or Help Haiti

They give children in Haiti a positive learning environment.

Please check it out, they're a real cause.

I greatly appreciate anyone's help
