Stoo Pid Bits

I’ll admit, I was a little surprised by this. But I don’t know if it’s NC-17 like Henry & June, or NC-17 like Orgazmo.

blog readability test

Guess it’s Orgazmo.

The Blog-O-Cuss Meter - Do you cuss a lot in your blog or website?

Apparently, “fuck” is a now a cuss word.

And here's some local news. Seems a young black bear has been hanging out at the Hard Rock Hotel. Please take the time to watch the video. The on scene reporter does a bang up job of pandering to the stupid by showing a picture of the “type of bear” they’re looking for, I guess so people won't confuse it with other kinds of bears roaming the area. And kudos to Lt. Jeff Hudson of Florida Fish and Wildlife for explaining the situation by quoting Bugs Bunny. Opposite of kudos to him for botching the line. It’s: “should have taken that left toin at Albuquerque.” But now I’m curious. Do all wildlife officials quote cartoon animals? Is it like a game for them? To see who can slip in the most references while keeping a straight face? If it’s not, it should be.

I’ll be on the road again next week and away from the computer, which totally screws me for June trivia, but I’m gonna start doing My Town Monday, Travis Erwin's invention, and I hope to have the first one up this Monday. Tuesday at the latest.

UPDATE:

Figures.

Cool, I look forward to your MTM post.

Those are nice little gizmos. Entirely reliable too. My blog scored 0 on the cussometer. (You can tell it was robots "reading" it.)

Do you really have "cussing" in half your posts?

Sarah Laurenson said...

My blog's G rated, high school level with 6% cussing. Sounds very oxy-moronic. Or maybe just moronic.

Love the picture of the bear. Was it a police artist's rendering? This is the suspect we are looking for

You can all guess what my blog was rated; I guess I was wrong when I warned someone to keep it PG, turns out it's G.

I liked the reading level one. My writing blog is junior high, my book review blog high school, and my family blog is apparently for geniuses. I guess that's another reason to keep it invite only, since most people wouldn't be able to understand it. (Actually, I have no idea what they are basing that one, since that blog is mostly just pictures and "Listen to the funny thing my kids did today.")

Also funny? EE's blog got elementary school.

Thanks, Travis. I've been meaning to do it for a while.

Fairy, I would've guessed more than half, but you can't argue with robots.

Ha! Sarah, that was my first reaction to the picture too. I even watched the video twice to see if it was a drawing or a photo, but I couldn't tell.

Kiersten, that's hilarious. I dare you to tell him.

Shame no-one could hear me cuss when I couldn't paste my blog address into the readinglevelometer...

Wildlife is rampant in the Orlando area. First, BT informed us that there's an alligator the size of a dinosaur in Florida. Now we learn of a bear staying at the Hard Rock hotel. And this foul beast was roaming the grounds of the Swan and Dolphin resort while we were there.

What you don't see in the photo above is what happened immediately after the photo was taken. Fortunately, someone had their camcorder running.

Oh, and Corner Kick weighs in thus:

NC-17 (which I blame on you because clearly the robot noticed that you have commented on my blog more than once)

high school readability, which means I'm clearly aiming way too high for this lot

cuss-o-meter gives me 7.8%, which is "medium" (here, I must be aiming way too low for this lot)

and I apparently am Easy Rider

Blogless Troll said...

WO, sometimes it's best to cuss into the void.

Pete, me commenting on your blog... hmmm...yes...yes, I see... I think you're on to something. It couldn't be, for example, an entire month of children dying in verse.

And that's how I would've reacted to the foul beast as well.

Fun! I'm gonna find out what film I am. It kind of worries me- but hey. What the hell.

BT- it's the pits when you're gone!!!!

Robin S. said...

OK- Brit Bot is Easy Rider, and I'm Indy.

Nite nite!

McKoala said...

I'm sure you were delighted with your movie profile - or did you rig it?! Off to try all this for myself...

McKoala said...

I'm more risque than Kiersten, with a PG rating. I'm offended by my elementary school reading rating, and I assume my 5.7% cuss rate can only be down to BTs comments on my blog.

As for my movie...Mr Smith Goes to Washington, because I try to do the right thing!

writtenwyrdd said...

I'm the movie Apocalypse Now! Considering the world leader Imost resemble is Einstein, I can only wonder how accurate these tests are. and I have "high" cussing at 17% compared to your "high" cussing rate at 54%. How much is high, one wonders?

Blogless Troll said...

Robin, does he know you call him Brit Bot?

McK, didn't rig it. And hey, Kiersten says EE is elementary school too, so it can't be that bad.

WW, I think the average was 9%, so anything over that is probably high. But Fairy had 0% even though she cussed. I'm guessing she bribed the robots.

Sarah Laurenson said...

Apocalypse Now for me, too. Go figure. Doesn't seem like the right one. I think I need to do more than 18 questions.

fairyhedgehog said...

Damn, BT, I was hoping no one would notice I'd bribed the robots.

Robin S. said...

These things are fun. Wellll....
my blog is rated R, and it reads at the Junior High School level.

Apparently- I need to be more multi-syllabic.

Wonderwood said...

Hey, I'm Raiders of the Lost Ark also! Cool. My blog is G rated, elementary school level, with cussing on 29% of the pages. Pretty boring stuff, but I guess I get my adventures in other places. I can frequently be found on thrilling quests for ancient treasures. It's what I do in my spare time.

Blogless Troll said...

And don't forget: missing holes in one by mere millimeters.

Wonderwood said...

Hey, dude, I taught myself how to do the links! You're linked!

Wonderwood said...

Oh, and the hole in one, missed it twice actually. On the fly, and then again when it spun back past the hole on the other side of the mark. Again, by less than an inch.

Chris Eldin said...

I haven't been here in a while,
SHIT!
I'm missing all the good stuff.

First off, Bravo for a great Indy review. I just couldn't write any more than "It sucks, dude."

I was pissed. (see how I'm trying to ramp up your cuss ometer?). I had Thing 1 and Thing 2 with me. They initially didn't want to see it. I did such a sales job, invoking the brilliance of the earlier movies. Now they probably won't want to see those.

Jason Pinter did a great review on his blog as well--very similar to yours.

You know what set me over the edge? The hat! The DAMN hat that survived three waterfalls.

Okay, back to your regularly scheduled program. Those are cool widgets! And you know, you're honing your bit. Your schtick. The way you mock news reporters is hysterical!!! You should go write for Stephen Colbert, or his cuter counterpart.

:-)

Robin S. said...

Wow. I managed to be R-rated without any cussing (0%). It was probably the combination of the boobs and the using f'in instead of fuckin'. I need to fix that.

And I'm still insulted by my junior high rating. When you see unnecessarily hoo-ha words now, you'll know why.

Robin S. said...

PS-

Yeah - my husband knows I call him Brit Boy and Accent Man and the Spousal Unit on the blogs with you all. He thinks it's funny. Can you imagine me married to someone without a sense of humor? I can't either. That's why I'm REmarried - have been for a long time now.

Ello - Ellen Oh said...

Dude! I am the Godfather!!! How cool is that? I was jealous when I saw you were Indy cause I love Raiders but then I got the Godfather! Ha ha! I am so pleased with myself! I think I'll go post it!

JaneyV said...

My blog got an R rating with a 0% cuss rate. How the fuck did I manage that?
As with most, I'm Junior High too.
And as for the movie ... Schindler's List - how fucking depressing is that? If I do the 5 question one I get Apocalypse Now and on 27 I'm Easy Rider.

Actually in my mind I'm The Magnificent 7

I'm trying to improve your cuss rate - can you tell? ;0)
